Not everyone does!!! My brother doesn’t, he relies on his Dr appointments for that. I’ve got one, I’d rather know my numbers (just me though). Since I’m on insulin, I have to have it - also have a cgm and insulin pump too

Alot of doctors don't think it is necessary. I think it is a helpful tool for a diabetic to see how they are doing. You can talk to your pharmacist to see if how much it would cost to buy one.

Yes. I think a testing machine helps you to determine what actions need to be taking. Especially important if your having hypos. Don't want those numbers to high,or to low. The testing meter,is a must for me

Dexcom are launching a cgm for people who don't use insulin.Called stylo- non prescription, available from this summer in USA then rest of world
