Yes, statins can cause a slight rise in the average

I have been taking a statin (Lipitor) since I was diagnosed. In Canada, Diabetes Canada recommends that ALL Diabetics, even if your cholesterol is normal, take a statin as a preventative against heart disease/stroke (the number 1 and 2 killers of Diabetics)

I'm well controlled so can handle a point or two of upward pressure from a Statin and feel better than I have cut my risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke by 50% by taking the drug and if it's effecting my blood sugar it is minimal enough that it's not causing a issue "for me"

I have been on statins for years. I think as long as i have been diabetic so i am not sure how it affects my sugars.
