diabetes makes you question e erything doesnt it...but thaat staandard diabetes answer is it could be just that...or like me...I hate shoes alwaYS HAVE..buy lots of people are going to call it neurapathy from diabetes. I would say pay attention to your feet...swelling and stuff like that let your primary know... even though I dont seem to have nurapathy...my sibs..both had issues and lost digits...

Maybe - try some decent insoles (I worked on my feet all day wearing steel toe shoes) - if you are stationary you can get an anti-fatigue mat

But if your feet burn whether or not you have been on them all day then you may be seeing the early signs of neuropathy

I would mentioned it to your Doc. A Vascular Specialist can take a quick look and see if it's a problem. Because if it is you NEED to get a grip on it sooner rather than later - so worth the check
