Why Do You Need To Be Brutally Honest With Yourself And Your Doctor About Diabetes?
Well, time for the Friday Evening Post 😀
I sometimes see a post where the author says "The Doctor Will Be Disappointed With My Numbers".
My first thought always is, why aren't YOU disappointed with your numbers? If you believe your Doctor will be upset it must be because you have probably "quite significantly" missed your target.
How does that happen?
While it could be because you have simply progressed (there is never a warning), or another disease may have impacted your numbers - ditto… read more

Am I Too Harsh And Lack Compassion?
Most who read my posts become very aware that I don't tend to sugar coat anything.
Maybe that is because I have been dealing with Diabetes my entire life. My Parents, Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Uncles/Aunts and cousins all have/had diabetes, at least the overwhelming majority of them, so if you are a "normal" member of the family, you likewise have Diabetes.
It didn't mean your life was over. It didn't mean that you life was limited, it was simply a genetic trait no different then… read more
You are giving out very important information. Only a snowflake would think you are harsh.
Who Is All On Your Support Team?
I'm not talking about doctors or therapists. I'm talking about family members or friends. Who do you find is your biggest supporter? What makes them your biggest supporter? Back in 2016, I lost seven immediate family members and out of those seven, three of them were on my support team. I lost my biggest supporter in my mom along with my step-dad and my grandma. Finding it very hard to find people to replace them on my team.

What Are 9 Things To Know If You Are Taking Metformin?
Metformin is the most widely prescribed diabetes drug in the world and has been used effectively for somewhat over 80 years now
It is as safe as possible and has no significant side effects with long term use for over 90% of users - upwards of 10% can never tolerate the stuff and have to discontinue use - but that is stopping the product, it's not causing "damage"
Here's 9 things the experts think you should be aware of if you are prescribed Metformin:
It "almost always" causes GI issues… read more

Why Did My Doctor Prescribe Me A DANGEROUS Drug?
(2 parts and comes with one of those "viewer discretion" warnings)
I will answer that but just want to forewarn that some may find this post a little “harsh”
I work with two different Diabetes mentoring programs – a “regular one” and a “Bootcamp”
For any that have Served and had the pleasure of Basic Training they would recognize our Bootcamp technique – it’s fashioned the same way – you are told what to think and what to do to try and teach you what you need to know
To do what is expected… read more

What Does It Really Mean When You Say "I'm Struggling To Get My Blood Sugar Under Control?"
That comment totally baffles me
You either control your blood sugar however you have to do it OR
You are not really/truly concerned about it at all
Now, if you mean you Promised your Doctor you would eat better, get some exercise and work on your weight and you haven't quite got around to that yet - news flash - you are NOT trying
If you were prescribed medication and you don't take it as prescribed, on time all the time without excuse - again, NOT trying
If despite your best efforts and… read more

Do You Feel "alone" As A Diabetic?
Common feeling amongst many - "I feel all alone because nobody around me understands"
Well, I'm just kicking back watching the Tampa Bay/Dallas Wildcard Game
For a bit of perspective - statistically there is 7,874 DIABETICS in the stands watching the game live
We are nowhere near alone....

Do Those Glucose Watches Advertised Everywhere Actually Work Good Enough?
This question seems to come up a couple times a day
All you have to do is a single "diabetes" search and you get bombarded by the Snake Oil Sellers peddling their Gluco Pro "cure" which is just a capsule full of supplements that "do not treat" or these watches so you don't have to "prick your finger"
The latter has become so prolific (and so potentially dangerous because they just can't measure properly) that the FDA in the US has weighed in on it
Here is their guideance:
