Why Do I Sometimes Get An "email Window", When I "click To Reply" To Read A Post That Someone Has Written To Me?
Anybody know? Is this how people can email each other, on this site? Do they do this without knowing my real email? and how do I initiate it, without building more steam in my ears?
Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member, and @A DiabetesTeam Member, and @A DiabetesTeam Member, and all you warriors.
When someone posts on your homepage, you can now private message them. That is what that is all about. This is a new feature. We've been asking for. When you use the private messaging only you and the person you message can see it.
You can view the original message by clicking on the 2 bars in the upper left corner. Then the drop-down, my profile, my updates. From there you can find their post and reply normally.
Now we can talk about thongs that need not be shared on the all activity page. Until people start abusing it.
Good luck.
Enjoy.
Thanks @A DiabetesTeam Member
It happens after I get notified and then have to "click to see the reply". After clicking, instead of the reply---I see my email window with the To: area filled out.
like this:

I'm thinking it may be a way for posters here to email each other, with anonymity, not sure though. I've heard rumors that it exists. I am just really cautious about such things and after seeing it a few times recently thought I would try to find out what it is. Thanks
I had to remove letters and insert the (xyz) because when I tried to post this post, I got a warning about using caution when posting my email????
I don't think it's this website doing that but rather some setting in the device that you are using to view it (if you follow what I'm saying)
@A DiabetesTeam Member Hmm in your notifications if its been clicked off to where you will get notifications in your email inbox letting you know someone on here has messaged you or gave you a hug or added an answer to a previous question you answered before, well you can unclick some of those if you dont want to be notified because it can be a lot getting those notifications for lets say everything that goes on here on this site. Not sure if this helps or not but you can check your notifications on here as to which topics you want to be informed of through email and change your responses at anytime you want.
Thanks for asking the question @A DiabetesTeam Member. I was getting the same thing to sometimes & wasn’t sure why! 😊
