What's The Best Protein Drink For Type 2
The Glucerna's have high protein, and steady carb release, they are for Diabetics. I usually have one if I'm not in a mood to eat, as a meal replacement. you can check them out. Great flavors to choose from also.
@A DiabetesTeam Member Well. I would suggest you look for one with high protein and lowest sugar content. I think I read to avoid sugar alcohols too? I buy the Premier Protein drinks from Sams club with 30 grams of protein and just 1 gram of sugar. But when I tried to read the ingredients, they were all artificial looking words. Great question-just not sure about the answer. If/when I have the time I may research and compare the ready-made protein drinks with drinks made at home with protein powder and REAL ingredients: milk, cocoa powder, etc...
That depends how many carbs you can handle and if you are using the (drink) as a whole meal replacement or simply a supplement
What I mean is, I personally can down one of the Boost Protein shakes at 20 net carbs (or about 13 in the "carb smart" version) but Henry @A DiabetesTeam Member would have to turn that into 10 "shooters" because he can only handle about 2 carbs
So the answer "depends" on what your goal is (how much extra protein) AND how many carbs you can handle
