Glynase PresTab is a prescription drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Glynase PresTab is considered an adjunct treatment to diet and exercise. Glynase PresTab is also referred to by its drug name, Glyburide.

Glynase PresTab is a sulfonylurea. Glynase PresTab is believed to work by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas.

How do I take it?
Prescribing information states that Glynase PresTab is generally taken once daily, in the morning with breakfast.

Side effects
The FDA-approved label for Glynase PresTab lists common side effects including hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), nausea, heartburn, full-stomach sensation, joint or muscle pain, blurry vision, rash, and itching.

Rare but serious side effects listed for Glynase PresTab include jaundice and systemic allergic reaction.
