Has Anyone Successfully Reduced The Dawn Effect By Drinking Water When Waking Up?

I have been reading on the internet about the Japanese, Indians and Chinese who suggest that everyone should drink water on waking in the morning to address various issues, including diabetes. I thought i would give it a try. The late snack, early breakfast, early exercise and timing of medication has just not helped in reducing my DP.

I am trying to reduce my dawn effect by drinking 500ml when I wakeup @05:00 in the morning

Yes it has worked for me .. but warm not hot . I put lemon and a green tea. Keep topping up whole day. Drink 300ml every 45mins to an hour. More hydrated = more pee = more sugar washed out of the body.

water has to be as hot as you can tolerate, cold water is not good comparatively.

I drink a huge glass of water (normally when I take my meds) when I wake up. Sure helps to rehydrate.

Sorry I do not know what DP means. Drinking water early in the morning is good for your health. I drink a glass of water in the morning. I add a bit ofurther vinegar or fenugreek seeds to help immunity and my joint pain . This helps me. This also good for the stomach. It helps in the bowel movements too.

I have doing this for many years ... half pint warm water on waking up & there after similar amount every 90 minutes through the day till around dinner time ... it goes a long way to keep the system & body functions in some kind working order ....
