What Is Your Preferred Injection Spot?
Depends on what I am wearing and where I am. If I am at home, it is normally in my belly. If I am out and wearing a dress, well... I'm not going to lift that any higher than my thigh. Sorry if I am wrong, but I don't believe I should hide to take needed medicine and will give myself my insulin right at the table (as discreetly as possible, mind you).

Thank you Lori, I just feel that so many people get such little information from their doctor or medical teams. I have done a great deal of reading on the internet, and have been lucky enough to have a good clinic to go to, and of course, a ton of experience. Some of this information is important too. I see a lot of people with little knowledge of their medications, and the actions of the various insullins. It is all important stuff, and if people do not get correct information it can harm their overall plan to take control of this condition. Cheers and Merry Christmas All.

contd,.. from above
With background insulin, the basal, you do not need to worry about when you eat, as it continues to work in the background. The fast acting though, needs to be taken before meals, and tailored in number of units to how many carbs you have in your meal. Obviously the less carbs you eat, the less insulin you need to take, and therefore, the less weight you are likely to accumulate. It sounds complex and it is sometimes frustrating. Like for instance, right now for me.....I am having trouble going down low too much. Nothing has changed in my food intake, exercise (non existent other than walking around the house). However, since yesterday I have been getting numbers way down in the 3's I had three 3's and a 2.6 yesterday. Each meal I have reduced my insulin to less than the calculated amount, and STILL it is going low.; Yesterday morning I was feeling fuzzy when I got up, so checked and wasat 3.3 so took 2 glucose tabs and was 7.9 before breakfast but back in the 3's for lunch and down to 2.6 in mid afternoon, so had a nice coffee and 3 small thin chocolate thins (like potato chips), and had a nice 5.4 before dinner, but then later mid evening I checked and got 3.9, so another small snack and was 4.3 after that before bed. Then took 2 glucose tablets to be sure to go up some more overnight. Crazy, crazy..... I must say that this happens very, very, rarely so if it scares you a bit, don't be worried because it is a 'one off', I am pretty sure, If it continues, I will change my settings on the pump to deliver less basal and possible less at meals. Have to wait and see if it continues or not first.
Well, this was to reassure you that learning about insulin is a VERY GOOD thing, but I seem to have turned it into a dismal tale of 'luck of the draw' type of thing.....LOL!
@A DiabetesTeam Member VW, Thank you for your comment. I have always been aware that I need to stay clear of the scars. Don't ever assume that I don't need your input. When I find someone that has the kind of knowledge and wisdom that you possess I will always have the welcome mat out. So I am so pleased and grateful for your responses.
