I Have A Question For Those Of You That Have Neuropathy In Their Feet And Legs. Does Anything Work Better Than Cybalta Or Gabapentin?
@A DiabetesTeam Member A Tens unit is a part of my arsenal of pain relief as well. Unfortunately the Neuropathy is here to stay and keeping the pain at a minimum is all we can do. I haven't heard one single person claim they have gotten total pain relief from anything. Sharing our ideas is the best we can do for each other.
Hi Randy. In addition to Gabapentin, there are several OTC creams and lotions that are topical analgesics. They help for a while, but wear off so you have to re-apply. Similar to taking a painkiller for a headache that doesn't go away. This might sound hokey and I am not in any way trying to encourage anyone to purchase anything BUT out of desperation I bought a device at the pharmacy OTC that you put your feet on. It sends electrical impulses through your feet and helps to stimulate blood circulation in your feet and lower legs. When I use that for a couple of evenings I don't need it again for months. It has saved me from living in so much pain. I still take 1100 gms of Gabapentin 3 x day, but I can't even remember when I last needed the creams. I don't know if I'm allowed to use a brand name, but the one I bought was Dr. Ho and cost about $80 in the US. Here in Canada the cost was about $125.
@A DiabetesTeam Member I have no idea. Gabapentin is the only thing the doctor has ever given me. I just use SalonPas pain patches and bio freeze (both are OTC) when I need extra relief
Just went on that one. Fingers crossed
