Members generously shared their daily meal plans in response to a question about what helps keep blood sugar levels stable, with common themes including portion control, balanced plates with lean proteins and vegetables, and staying within 30-45 grams of carbs per meal. Several members described practical strategies like using the plate method, mixing unsweetened and sweetened cereals to reduce sugar, drinking plenty of water, incorporating vinegar or fermented foods, and choosing high-fiber or whole-grain options over refined carbs. A recurring theme was that everyone's body responds differently, so regular testing and finding what works personally is key, with many members celebrating A1C levels in the 5-6 range through consistent habits and mindful eating.

I eat what ever I want, so long as the total carbs stay below 60, 710 if I am splurging. This means I have potatoes, bread, pasta, and yes, sometimes even a sweet. Portion size is critical. I used to have a plate of pasta for a meal, now it is a side, with a protein and veges completing the meal. The "plate method" is a general guideline I use.

I do tend to stay away from the empty carbs, like sweets, but even that is not an absolute.

I was diagnosed with an a1c of 14.7. My last a1c was 5.7. I do also take Janumet.

3 eggs sunnyside up, 2 sausage links and a piece of whole wheat toast every morning. For some reason my numbers really like this breakfast. Never over 120 when testing at lunch time.
