I buy raw almonds and roast them myself, adding any seasonings like 5-spice powder, chili powder, ginger, etc. Commercially roasted and seasoned nuts often have a bit of sugar added. Also you pay extra for this. Raw almonds are cheaper. But you must roast them first, as raw ones cause indigestion. Popcorn is another snack l like. Sometimes, I make protein snack bars by using the Rice Krispies squares recipe. I use the Brown Rice Krispies, and swap out more than half the cereal for a combination of nuts, seeds, and some chopped dried fruits. The dietitian at the seniours' centre where I live, declared this a very healthy snack. One piece is all you need. Snacks the require a bit of chewing will help crush your carb cravings. Just do not forget to drink lots of healthy fluids on a high fibre diet.

ONE square of good dark chocolate but only one. The taste lingers and also does not mix well with other foods so stops eating more. Don't do it though if you cannot stop at one square. I have friend who cuts up a bar into squares wraps each in foil then cling film then puts them in really difficult box to open. By the time she gets to one she often has lost the need to snack

I know what you mean I made three on Saturday and a coffee cake. Gave them to friends and felt very virtuous (that feeling about food doesn't come often!). Love cooking love eating and find like everyone if they are honest I do have a treat. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge the craving and have the occasional planned treat. I find this works rather than suddenly giving into temptation. Lots of hugs

Sometimes having one of what you want stops you having loads. The odd treat doesn't hurt. Enjoy 😊
