Members identified the burning sensation in heels and toes as likely diabetic neuropathy, urging the person to see their doctor or endocrinologist as soon as possible before symptoms worsen. Several members shared medications that have helped them manage neuropathy pain, including Gabapentin, Lyrica (pregabalin), and over-the-counter capsaicin cream, with one member finding relief from rolling a frozen water bottle under their feet and another using Vicks vapor rub at bedtime. A recurring theme was the importance of controlling blood sugar through good nutrition to minimize further nerve damage and finding personalized solutions since different approaches work for different people.

I have the numb, burning, stabbing pain in my feet too. Gabapentin helps some. My feet always act up at bedtime. Then I use capsaicin in a roller bottle to cover painful area. It actually works pretty well. And it is over the counter.

Depends on the reason/cause but it is best to talk with your endocrinologist and get a referral to a nurologist if you suspect it to be nuropathy
