Craving For.sweet Stuff
My sugar levels was very high between 15 and 20. I also was diagnosed with covid and on the recovery road.
I brought down my sugar level to 7. My question is now since it drop down to 7 my device say it's still to high.
What must be the correct reading.
And is it normal for a person to crave for sweet stuff after your sugar levels dropped
Your body is used to more sugars and you will crave them, especially as you control your blood glucose to lower levels. Your body will adjust over time, but memories will continue.
I haven't stopped craving good Japanese RICE. It was September 2020 when I began fasting from rice. I ate rice twice from from Thanksgiving and the week after. I have been on an ultralow carb 'diet' since and so no rice.
I have craved rice every day since September. I ate rice 2-3 meals a day my whole life till then. Now 2 times a month I have 1 tablespoon rice to remember and partially sate that craving.
This is my new lifestyle. I will beat down my diabetes monster one baby step at a time, every meal, every day. I am that diabetes warrior. I am fighting the good fight. I am living my life on my terms. I will never give up, never surrender, never ever.
I got this.
Try to rotate your sweetness. If you have cane sugar one day , have maple syrup the next day , and something else the following day. You might REDUCE your cravings that way. Rotating all the foods in your diet is best.
A Gluten-free diet makes it easier for me to keep my blood sugar down.
I'm almost 7 years into this diabetes journey and I still want sweets. I fight myself over it every day. Under 6 is a really good range for diabetics but you definitely want to be closer to 6 than 7. I'm talking American numbers and A1c levels. Daily numbers need to be under 140, closer to 100 is better
At least try not to eat the same type of sweetners daily.
