Hi Brenda, nice to meet you 😊!
The sugar being high could be your hormones that signal the liver to boost your glucose. It could be high carbs from dinner or bedtime snacks or not enough medication. I suggest you talk to your doctor or a dietician. Eat a light breakfast and take a walk. Test again 2 hours after you have eaten your breakfast. It's trial and error of what you eat and test to determine what is healthy for your blood sugar that won't cause it to spike to high numbers. Avoid white bread, white rice, croissants, bagels 🥯, muffins, french fries, half smokes/hot dogs which is processed, high sugar fruits like banana 🍌, watermelon 🍉, grapes 🍇. Eat beans 🫘, drink low fat milk 🥛 and water, fish, salmon, chicken, turkey, seeds and nuts. Also avoid sweet dessert like cookies, cakes, pies.

It's called The Dawn Phenomena....you can go read about it on the internet. When you don't eat for a period of time your liver releases glucose in the blood stream
