For me there are several different aspects of self care
The Outdoors
Exercise
The Water - Ocean
Sleep
Adventures
Learning
Joy
Family
Music
Rest
Travel
Kindness to Myself
Blessing Others
Taking a Break
Letting it Go
And others.

I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, yardwork, foraging, walking in the woods, finding and identifying plants, trees, rocks, shells, and more. Walking along trails, checking out caves and natural formations, identifying and collecting minerals and fossils.

I usually… read more

We all can do a small treat 1-2 x a month. I use my meter as my guide. On those treat occasions I try to not exceed 8.3(151) with my 2 hour number. So small treat is my key.

I am in MAN-opause courtesy of my current prostate cancer treatment. My Bride snickers and says I am getting in touch with my feminine side. As she sees me adding extra blankets and 20-30 minutes later throwing them off. Repeat in another 20-30 minutes.

So I suppose I can lend a bit of a feminine touch at times. She tells me I seem content watching the Hallmark channel with her.

Enjoy you day.

I too love going to thrift shops on Senior day and have abasement full of "treasures" to prove it! Snork! I started doing jigsaw puzzles and Sudoku years back, then kakuro. Before that I learned to "absorb" subtitled foreign films and get "lost" in them. Currently I have added the following to my self-care "toolbelt": I start each day with a lemon in water (which I continue to add water to throughout the day); I also do dry brushing on my body before getting dressed (with a handheld natural bristle bath brush-good for lymph nodes and circulation) followed with almond oil. I am hoping to begin doing yoga daily as part of a self-care regimen. I also am adding my perfume of choice to my aromatherapy mister, instead of the essential oils (which leave an oily taste in the air). I also hope to learn to follow Hkc's lead, as much as possible, where selfcare is concerned (with an added feminine touch I suppose).

I learned the hard way if you don't look after yourself, you can't look after anyone else. Am in a bit of a slump just now, tired from work and struggling to get my levels down to an acceptable level. I have started buying seeds and they are on the table as a we reminder spring is on its way proper and I can start getting back into the garden. I like to spend weekends seeing my grandweans and parents. So it's go see all the boys then take one out on one to one time, we visit greatgran and grandad, maybe go out for lunch. Then it's home to make something nice for dinner watch a really dodgy action movie with a nice glass of red wine.
I like to read, my plans are to find time to get back into doing crafty things, get out walking and back to the gym.
Just be more sociable, I tend to hibernate in winter, I have SAD.
Anyway although I have been offered a Snr post at my current post, I decided the money wasn't enough for what they expect of me. I have been offered a post with another company, hourly rate is better so am cutting down to two days a week. ( Mind it's 14 hour shifts and a sleep over). Looking forward to it.
My eldest grandson is staying over just now so he can get to his work, and when I took him to Maccie Ds he paid for it- proud, happy, sad moment. He also helped me make dinner yesterday. My son is home from Lybia on leave next week.

All positive things. πŸ™‚β€οΈ
