Why Is My Blood Pressure High In The Morning

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Sunray, TX

My blood pressure has been high in the morning and i take two different blood pressure meds. A doctor told me to increase exercise and decrease sodium. Is this normal. My blood decreases throughout the day.

That is not normal - it should typically be close to it's lowest level when you wake up and gradually rise throughout the day

Too much salt, and not just the bit you put on from the shaker, but in processed foods and canned foods is the biggest problem

If your BP is consistently above 135'ish/80'ish that is bad news for a diabetic so if that is the case get back into the Doc and ask more pointed questions such as "what exactly do I need to do specifically" because you don't want to Stroke out if you have a real issue
