NO but a Type 2 can also develop Type 1 or more often LADA which is an adult form of Type 1

A Type 1 can also develop Type 2 but would then have "both" diseases

Type 2 is a metabolic disorder
Type 1 is an auto-immune disease

One does not progress to the other and meds have nothing to do with it

All Type 1's use insulin, about 1 in 5 Type 2's will eventually use insulin "as a Type 2 Insulin Dependant)
