What Is The Most Reliable Monitor?

In the U.S. it's pretty tough to beat the Reli-On (Walmart's brand) - of course it's made by one of the big companies for Walmart and it's consistently rated as reliable within 5% (industry standard is 15% - which sounds like a lot but is good enough)

Others in the 5% accuracy range include the meters from Contour (Bayer) and Accu-Chek (Roche)

I have been wearing the Libre and Libre 2 is-CGM's (Abbott) for most of the past few years but used the Accu-Chek Guide as my "stick test meter" for a few years

CGM is absolutely the way to go if you can get the cost covered, otherwise it is really expensive (12 weeks of sensors (6 x 14 days each) bill out at $640 in Ontario)

I was well pleased, it was accurate - the averages "it" calculated were bang on to my lab tests, but the test strips are practically the most expensive on the market - fine if, like me, you have great insurance that will cover it - but that is a downside to many of the meters - strips are at least twice or three times the cost of the Walmart brand

Of fingerprick monitors don't think Abbott's Neo can be beaten. For cgm's I use Abbott's libre2,which suits me.Friends use dexcom,.To be frank don't think much difference- each has slightly different capabilities.

I am on my third meter. The first two were "ok", but not spectacular. I am currently using the Countour Next Gen meter and test strips. Blue Cross of NC insurance covers the meter, control solution and test strips. It is quite accurate, and has bluetooth, sending the readings directly to the Contour app on my smartphone. I also use the Mysugr app on my phone, which has really helped me log and track my trends for glucose.
