Has Anybody Here Had Any Experience With These Sugar Down Gummies Or Ceylon Cinnamon Itself? I’ve Tried Both And Can’t Tell That They Help?

I used the therapeutic dosage of Ceylon Cinnamon for years. It only brings my blood glucose number down 0.1(2-3 usa).

It is helpful, but only minimally. I will try anything to help a bit.

Apple Cider Vinegar helps by slowing digestion a bit. The post meal glucose spike is slightly less.

I walk 10-15 minutes immediately after eating each meal. This lowers the post meal glucose spike significantly, becayse it slows digestion.

The active ingredient in turmeric - Curcumin helps a bit.
Berberine helps a bit.
Vitamin C helps a bit.
ALA, Alpha Lipoic Acid helps me a little more. I am probably a bit deficient.

CoQ10 helps me a bit since I am a bit deficient.
Since I am severely deficient in D, 5000 units D helps a bit.

Do what helps you.

But remember that prescription diabetes medications do 10 times as much to control blood glucose numbers, than any supplement.

So although supplements have a place, they don't have near the effect of the diabetes medications.

Don't be afraid to rely on diabetes medications when you need them. Controlling your numbers is important if you want to live a active long life with diabetes.

Good luck.

@A DiabetesTeam Member I have tried a number of supplements over the past few years and I typically give them a "bottles worth"

Most come in 100's so if it's one a day that would be about 3 months

None of them may work for you. Each supplement, vitamin, natural etc will only have an effect if YOU have a specific metabolic deficiency that (they) can have some effect on

They are not anti-diabetic meds - they don't help you produce insulin or evaporate sugar, they simply "might" help with something else metabolic that will allow (us) to use sugar a little better

That is why you have to consider them "snake oil" if someone on the internet is claiming they will cure/treat your diabetes

And don't be expecting big numbers - if I can lower my FBS by 0.2 mmols, about 4 points on average I would consider that a "significant benefit" from that supplement - they aren't meds

(this is a repeat - I tagged in on another thread)

Henry has a great list there, here is a couple others:

Milk Thistle (works like an ultra-light dose of metformin), Chromium (improves insulin resistance and all diabetics are chromium deficient to some extent) and Magnesium (the electrolyte everyone forgets about) are three others you could try, all of which (may) put a little more downward pressure on your sugar levels

Every little bit helps
