First off WE have to be careful there are many Snake Oil Sellers out there trying to make money off our fear

There is no Secret Cure - No formula that is being hidden from the masses that you can take once a day and eat Pizza, French Fries and regular Coke if you have been diagnosed with Diabetes - doesn't exist

Diabetes was first "described" around the time of Christ and between then and 1920 when Insulin was discovered the best medicine men/women in the world looked for treatments and they… read more

@A DiabetesTeam Member I never tried Berberine because to use it "effectively" for Diabetes it is a little "burdensome"

There are a few dozen studies out there and (essentially) what they found is for it to be "effective" you have to take a 500mg dose "before every meal forever" and at that levels you tend to experience the same GI issues as taking metformin

So same side effects, less benefit and all the cost out of pocket since it's a "supplement" and I need 3 or 4 capsules a day for it to be "worth taking"

That was the reason I gave up the Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) caplets as well (took them for about a year). Same deal, need 1 before every meal - they slow down gastric emptying so regulate carb uptake (stop spikes) - but get digested out with the meal - there is no "ongoing" support so taking it once a day only helps with one meal - it's not "medication" that stays in the system

And many of the supplements are like that - one and done so not "effective" treatment

But worth a try, berberine is highly rated "for what it does" - just don't expect it to "medicate"

I am currently testing berberine. I am seeing almost no difference in my numbers.

Thank you. I'll try the chromium since I hear a lot of good things about it from other sources. I'll look into the milk thistle as well. Again thank you.
