Why Do I Need To Fast Before A Contest Ct Scan?
Really good reason
You can't "puke" and asphyxiate yourself if you have an empty stomach which even if you survive tends to cause aspiration pneumonia π
And that is why you fast before any procedure where nausea/vomiting are "common" side effects of the anesthesia or in this case, the contrast material
It also phycilitates the absorbtion of the dye

Yikes I didnβt know that about contrast I def know it about anesthesia as I always get sick no matter how long I fast before surgery. Hopefully π€ I wonβt get sick I have to get back home afterwards! Thanks @A DiabetesTeam Member
