Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member, and @A DiabetesTeam Member, and all you warriors
I have recently halved my carb loading. It took some time but my morning fasting blood glucose numbers have come down significantly.
My morning fasting blood glucose numbers are below 5.5(99 usa) almost every day now. I have cut back from 7-8 finger sticks a day to 3-5. My numbers seem to always be in the safe, nondiabetic range now.
My 2 hour numbers have also come down. Many 2 hour numbers are near my before eating numbers.
I was trying to maximize my net carbs while controlling my 2 hour numbers to 7.8(140 usa). Since I halved my carb loading, it is so much easier and less time consuming to control my numbers.
Most people can handle 100-130 net carbs daily. Some can only tolerate 50-60 net carbs daily. Some only 20-30 net carbs daily.
Over time slowly cut your carbs. When you can control your numbers to the nondiabetic range of 4.0(72 usa) to 7.8(140 usa), you will know what carb loading tou can handle.
If you want better control, slowly half that carb loading.
It's about counting net carbs for me.
Good luck.
You are welcome.
@A DiabetesTeam Member Thanks. I started out lowering my carbs to around 30 but then gradually raised them around 130 a day. In hindsight I was premature to do that. I have since lowered carbs to around 100-but probably need to go lower still and get back to maybe 50.
