- Use healthier options like canola oil or olive oil.

3. Use Alternative Sweeteners in Moderation:
- Limit sugar intake, including high-fructose corn syrup and sucrose.

4. Add More Plants to Your Plate:
- Consider a plant-based diet with whole grains, lentils, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds.

5. Consider Making One-Pot Meals:
- Simplify meal prep and reduce cleanup time.

For spices and herbs, you can use:
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Cinnamon
- Turmeric
- Basil
- Oregano
- Parsley

These can add flavor without adding extra carbs or unhealthy fats. Always consult with your healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet.

Spices and Herbs do little to your blood sugar one way or the other - they don't generally raise it and if they have any lowering effect it is minimal at best - you can't think of them as a (treatment)

But that also means that putting some cinnamon on food for taste is better than sugar or honey - so benefits you by "not eating something you shouldn't" rather than "do something to lower blood sugar"

So yes, use spices and herbs to improve the taste of your food "instead" of adding something else that "would raise your blood sugar", but don't think of them as a "method" to lower your sugar levels
