Yes, I started taking Atorvastatin (Lipitor) the day I was diagnosed

Diabetes Canada recommends that ALL Diabetics take a Statin whether or not they have a cholesterol issue because of it's "protective" value - it cuts your risk of vascular disease and stroke by about 50%

And since those are the two biggest killers of Diabetics, anything you can do to reduce the risk is worth it. And unless you really can't tolerate the product, any minimal side effects are much preferred over Death caused by Stroke - which is kinda hard to get over 😁

2. Monitor Blood Sugar: Keep a close eye on your blood glucose levels. Regular monitoring can help you and your doctor make informed decisions.

3. Lifestyle Adjustments: Consider dietary changes or increasing physical activity, as these can help manage blood sugar levels.

4. Medication Review: Discuss all medications you're taking with your doctor to ensure there are no interactions affecting your blood sugar.

Remember, managing diabetes is a collaborative effort with your healthcare team.

I just have mote trouble bringing my sugars down. They say the Statin blocks the liver from accepting sugars and starches. Then it goes back to the blood stream and raises you sugar levels. So which os the worse evil?
