My AC1 Was 4,9 In June And My Dr Confirm That It's Well Controlled. I'm On Mengen 500mg And Simvastatin 10mg. I'm Struggling With Sore

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

In May, I took antibiotics for three weeks for a sore and my doctor did cut and drained it, but it kept on making pus. In June again the same sore on the corner of my armpit it took a month to heal. In July I'm struggling again now on my upper inside of my thigh. It starts with a very painful red round patch, develop a pimple and a pus after. I always control my diet and excersize. I don't need any more antibiotics. Please advise

Diabetes does cause boils
@A DiabetesTeam Member
There is a home remedy for boils, scrap a white potato and secure scrapping on boil,the starch in the potato will bring the boil to a head, and will pop on its own, wash hands immediately afterwards, and use antibacterial soap to bath in, like dial or safeguard.

@ Joice. Thanks for the response. My Dr told me that it's common for diabetic patients, I think I need to request further tests as you suggest because it is recurring. I don't think it's an ingrown hair for me because it grows like boils where there are no hair

When your Dr done the drainage, did they make a diagnosis? My son gets something similar, he's not a diabetic but he was diagnosed with Ingrow hairs, he has to get lanced and antibiotics, sometimes his comes within weeks apart, very painful. Warm compresses can help if it's ingrown hair also known as cyst. Best of luck, hugs from Joyce

Your pharmacist might suggest Zambuck or Traxa, but I really don’t know.
I do know that as a diabetic, you do need to take very good care of sores of any type.
It’s very important. I am sure you know that, because that is why you are seeking help. πŸ™πŸ€—
