@A DiabetesTeam Member, after animatedly discussing with my doctor that I was not diabetic yet (prediabetic yes), I made it my goal to get back to 150-155lbs from 230lbs April 2023. I read the articles, commentaries, insights from DT most specially comments of various folks I do not personally know like you, @DiabetesTeam users... etc.

I began to understand baby steps, mixing what I eat, reducing the carbs, exercising by brisk walking 6000-25000 steps 4-5x/week whenever possible, proportioning vegetables, proteins and carbohydrates. I requested my wife to help me to control even the sweets I take. Still trying I am a work in progress. Now, December 2024, I now weigh 160lbs, wear 34-36” waistline pants, and my doctor told me to keep it up so no diabetic medication up to present. My doctor told me NOT to lose weight anymore BECAUSE I am old and need the fat for when I get sick. Go figure. But then…..🧐😎

The DT team members are a big help, inspiration, hope and comfort for me. The insights are very helpful - baby steps, we can control the beast.
