Agree with Henry @A DiabetesTeam Member - if you can stay in the non-diabetic range (TITR) 75% of the time or better, it's unlikely that Diabetes will take you down

If you can't manage that, and some people shouldn't try (existing heart condition) then there is a range that will at least protect your eyes, brain and kidneys from blood sugar damage and that is 4.0-8.7 mmols or 70/72-156, again before meals (pre-prandial) and 2 hours after meals (post-prandial) or at least 75% of the time

For the best diabetic outcomes you should try to maintain your numbers between 4.0(72 usa) and 7.8(140 usa). Both before meals and 2 hour numbers.

This is the nondiabetic range, aka TITR Time In Tight Range.

Any numbers above 7.8(140 usa) add to cumulative vascular damage.

Cumulative vascular damage from glucose spikes feeds diabetes complications and comorbidities.

It's your choice to what kind of life you want to lead with diabetes for the long haul.

I choose to live the best life I can with diabetes.

Make your choice.

A good blood sugar reading depends on timing. Before meals, the target range is typically 80 to 130 mg/dL (4 to 6 mmol/L). After meals, it should be less than 180 mg/dL (10 mmol/L). However, individual targets may vary, so consult your doctor for personalized guidance.
