Is There Any Other Medication For T2 Other Than Metformin? It Cost $459 At The Pharmacy(Wellcare). Help!!!!!
Metformin comes in a number of generic forms and I can find it listed for 50 cents a pill (500 mg in quantity of 60 pills) in the US so maybe ask your pharmacist about a "generic form" of metformin instead of the price gouging Name Brands which are prevalent in the US
Yes, there are several other medications for type 2 diabetes besides metformin. Options include sulfonylureas (e.g., glyburide, glimepiride), thiazolidinediones (e.g., pioglitazone, rosiglitazone), GLP-1 receptor agonists, DPP-4 inhibitors, and SGLT2 inhibitors. Each has different costs and effects. Speak with your doctor Show Full Answer
