Ozempic And Major Blood Sugar Drops
Hi Everyone!! So I took for Ozempic this morning.. I'm still working my way up. I took my last dose of .50mg this morning, ate my breakfast. went to work. about 11:45 my sugar did a major crash and the alarm was going off on my Libre 2 like crazy. Ate my lunch and had my 3 pm snack. I'm been starving all day, and my level's are all over the place. This happened last week also, but I was at home. Debating to start taking it a night instead of the morning. Feel like crap when this… read more
I was unable to take Ozempic, though I had a really weird experience. I was taken off that and put on Mounjaro, so far it is working a little bit better. I was also advised that if you crash try eating more proteins with your meals, it takes your body longer to process this giving you more time to prevent lows
Ozempic and the rest in that drug class properly called GLP-1 Agonists really "mess with" the Hormone (GLP-1) that our body produces to turn on our own Insulin Production.
Anytime you put a "foreign substances" into your body and mess with the natural chemistry there is bound to be some percentage of the population that just can't use the stuff
Just about every drug has a 10 to 15% rejection rate and that is part of the "treatment game" - finding a medication that does what it is supposed to without causing negative effects "bad enough" to cause the discontinuation of use
It's not perfect and never will be
And since these drugs are so new Nobody can tell you with any kind of authority what they "might do" if you take them for 10 or 15 years - Ozempic has only been in use for 5 years - who knows what long term effects it "may" have - but one thing is certain - Uncontrolled Diabetes WILL cause a nasty, painful, lingering death that will make a horror movie look like a serene walk in the park
That is what must be balanced against potential side effects - something might be unpleasant but if it's at least "tolerable" that is still miles better than the alternative (which is a "known")
I would tell the doctor; you may not have to go to 1 mg with the results you are getting. Keep a very close record to show your doctor. You may have to eat many small meals aday; the doctor will advise you. Good luck

I took Ozempic also, it became a nightmare for me. I did great for awhile but once it got to a certain level it made me feel like I was starving! I gained weight due to overeating then getting sick because of that. I am no longer on it, I have switched to a new medication and I have lost the weight I gained and then some more. Many people do very well with it, but some do not. Hope you feel better and sending positive thoughts your way.
