Hello. What Are Your Thoughts About Taking Ozempic? Is Everyone Having Trouble Getting It?
Highly rated drug that is producing great results
But it's also now a "fad drug" for those that can afford it "off label"
If a non-diabetic takes it they can dump a lot of weight quite quickly and a number of influencers particularly in the US have been ranting about/promoting it which has led to a shortage in the US (which hasn't spread further at the moment)
Ozempic seems to be the one that is in demand.
There is some other options (just different mfgs, same drug essentially)
Rybelsus is an "oral" version (tablets) that are taken daily but don't work quite as well as the injectables (trying to digest a drug degrades it somewhat)
The "closest" alternative is Trulicity - also a "once a week" injection
Victoza and Byetta are "daily injections"
or the brand new drug in the class, Mounjaro which should work even a little better then the rest, it was just approved early last year and is supposed to be better/stronger/faster then the older ones in the bunch
So if you can't get Ozempic which is the one in demand, there are other options if your insurance will cover them either temporarily as a substitute or you could get your Doc to prescribe one of the alternatives
I was just prescribed Ozempic last week, and it has been red tape trying to get it so far. Insurance having to have approval from doctor. I just got notified it was approved by my insurance today, but don't know when I will be getting it. Praying it will help, my A1c is up.
Finally got some as well alternatives are out there but rarely covered with insurance
My Dr Wrote me a prescription for Mounjaro, and my Insurance denied it. Because it costs more. My Pharmacy said they cant get it in either. Finally they got some Ozempic in, so I am hopeful that the shortage is almost over.
Is Everyone Having Trouble Getting Their Ozempic Any Alternative This Is Crazy I Need It .
