Are You Happy With The Information And Care You Get From The Doctor That Helps Manage Your Type 2?
As Type 2 Diabetics we are predominantly treated by a Primary Care Physician, Internist, Family Doctor (different names depending where you live) - but essentially the "maintenance mechanic" of the medical world
They may know next to nothing, a little or quite a bit about diabetes and probably in excess of 99% of them simply use the Treatment Guidelines that have been adopted by (at least) all of the countries represented by our group - so they are using a "professional" plan to treat you that… read more

Morning
My doctor and I are the same age and no she really doesn’t listen to me. We have 15 minutes meeting every three months to discuss my progress with the diabetes. I asked over and over again about me trying a CMG and she told me over and over again for an entire year or two that I didn’t qualify for one.
@A DiabetesTeam Member posted on how we could get the FreeStyle Libra 2 as a free trial and I signed up and was approved by my insurance.
I talked to my diabetic educator no clue on how to help me or maybe I just didn’t understand her so I took a couple of free online nutrition lessons. When she found out. She didn’t give me an appointment when I requested it. Now I have a new educator that told me her caseload was too full for me to visit her twice a month. That session was 15 minutes as well. No education on how the Freestyle works; however, I’ve been getting help from this group and Freestyle.
Oh in 2015, I was experiencing a lot of pain over my whole body and every 90 days my doctor would tell me “oh you got to lose weight and continue to take Tylenol for pain.”
One of my sons had to drive me to work and back home every day for a year. Some days I couldn’t even write or use my hands to turn on the lights, faucets, or open doors. I kept looking at Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms and saying this must be what’s wrong, but I trusted my doctor.
I finally made an appointment with her colleague in 2016 and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in a matter of seconds. I had lost over 30 pounds within that year’s time.
I really don’t trust her anymore and I am planning to change doctors when my insurance changes.
I would also like to thank Graham for all of his knowledge. I have learned so much in this short time that I‘be been participating on this platform and the other ambassadors.
My gp is a good doctor who is very good with referrals to specialists and knows a fair bit about diabetes. With my almost non diabetic A1c results for the last 6 yrs since being diagnosed he lets me control my condition. If I am concerned I have an amazing health care team of specialists to consult with. Without being obsessive I take my bg very serious.
Good for you both
This platform with the ambassadors have contributed considerably to my levels being acceptable I cannot thank you enough Graham Hkc and Judith I have found the missing answers, May God shower his blessings on you 🙏🌹
