Good afternoon from South Jersey @A DiabetesTeam Member, and @A DiabetesTeam Member.
Since Lynette was diagnosed with diabetes 12 years ago, it sounds like it is indeed diabetes peripheral neuropathy.

It is caused by cumulative microvascular damage from high blood glucose numbers over time. The nerves don't have enough blood flow and begin to die slowly.

But all is not lost. You can stop the progression of peripheral neuropathy even today. Control your numbers to 4.0(72) to 7.8(140). Progression of diabetes complications and comorbidities will stop.

It's your choice. Baby steps.

There are also medications like Lyrica, pain relievers like gabapentin, Voltaren gel, lidocaine creams and pads. Salonpas pads, and more.

My Bride uses gabapentin, Voltaren gel, and lidocaine pads.

Good luck.
