Is Fatigue A Consequence Of High Blood Sugar Or Is Something Else Causing Fatigue In Diabetics?
Google High Energy High Fibre High Protein diabetic foods
Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member,
If I get at all dehydrated, like when I reduce fluid intake on days we spend in the car traveling. I am blessed with such overwhelming tiredness that it almost hurts.
I know that I need water, so I begin sipping. In the course of the next 30 minutes, I start to feel alive again. But I am still tired, just not overwhelmingly.
Diabetes does a number on our energy levels, we just don't use blood sugar effectively enough to keep everything "fueled up"
I have managed over the past few years to try and maintain more consistent, but not greater, energy during the day
That is why I went to eating 4 meals a day. I found spacing near equal (carbs/calories) at 4-5 hour intervals (starts with breakfast first thing then every 4-5 hours after that and shoot for about 500 cal/25 carbs) gives me more "consistent" energy
At least if it's consistent you can learn how to pace yourself.
I found this approach works better than constantly "crashing" - particularly after lunch
So managed energy but not "more" of it
