I Have A Large Blister In The Tip Of One Of My Fingers Due To A Burn. What Should I Do?

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Belfast, UK

I was using hair straighteners yesterday. They slipped from my hands and I burnt the tips of 2 fingers trying to catch them. It took several hours for the burn and heat to leave one of them, and I now have a large blister covering most of that fingertip. Should I contact my gp?

Thanks Jenny, I hope your finger is OK! I rang my GP and was lucky enough to see her the same day. She recommended I kept dressings and burn cream on the three fingers that were burnt, changing the dressings daily to keep an eye on the healing. All good now, they are still a little tender, but healed enough not to need dressed.

I am glad. Mine is healed up now, but it took awhile and was infected. I hope yours are better!

How did you make out? I cut my finger while cooking a couple of days ago. I keep a good eye on any injuries. I know that as long as they appear to be healing well, I am probably ok. I hope that it is healing well.
