Does Anyone Have Gout Too? I'm Having Problems Finding Foods That I Can Eat! :(
Deaf-blind, type 2,gout,copd and more
Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member For your diabetes eat a healthy diet.Include food low in calories and fat but high in fibre.
Fruits, veggies or whole grains are best.
To protect against gout you might want to avoid red meat, shellfish, sugary food and drink, alcohol( especially beer)Low fat dairy product might help protects you from gout too.
Lose weight- which will reduce your uric acid( but quick weight loss raises uric acid) will improve your blood sugar
Try to get 30 mins activity in daily - helps keep healthy weight and improve diabetes.
If you have other health issues take care of them.Follow Doc's instructions and take all your meds.
Can your doc help with prescription painkillers to tide you over the flare ups?
Oh I've been trying all kinds of foods yes trial and error I'm working in it but it's the dreaded flare ups that kill me :( sooooo painful!
I found what I could eat by trial and error. If something affected my blood sugar or my kidney function or my arthritis then I stopped eating it.I found smaller quantities of many foods which were supposed to be " bad" for me I could safely eat.
It probably won't be easy but do give it a try( I couldn't cope with having to eat the same thing all the time)
Thank you I'm doing what I can but a lot of foods I can't eat and then with diabetes it's been hard
