My Fasting Numbers Are High. How Can I Bring Them Down?
I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. My fasting numbers are in the range of 107-115 when I first wake up. If I don't eat right away they tend to go up. Highest was 125. My problem is my dr takes my fasting number over my A1c which is 5.4-5.6. I am on no medication. During the day my numbers are ok. I know about dawn phenomenon. I'm guessing that what it is but not sure what to do about it? 🤔
Thanks Juliet5! This is what the dr. told me when she said it was prediabetes. "A fasting blood sugar level less than 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L) is normal. A fasting blood sugar level from 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) is considered prediabetes. If it's 126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) or higher on two separate tests, you have diabetes."
The glucose goes up overnight because the liver is releasing store glycogen in to the blood to
107 and 115 seem that you have diabetes and not pre diabetes if these are overnight fasting reading
My sugar goes up higher if I don't eat. I take my shot id. If my eyes are half closed and I'm going back to sleep. Then later after breakfast I take metformin. Struggle is real
