I Don't Like Red Meat And Eat Chicken Or Seafood Daily. Problem Is I Love Bread. What Type Of Bread Would Be Ok. Is.Brown Wholewheat Ok?
I don't like red meat or any fatty food. Mostly chicken and seafood. Love bread
salads and soups which are high on my diet. Love fresh fruit and juices. My sugar levels are between 4.0 and 14 .0 depends what i eat during the day. Could my fruit intake be the problem? I love rooibos tee but it must be black with honey as a sweetner and lemon juice for taste. I find if my sugar levels ar high just to drink 2 sips of coke i feel better within minites. I am diabetic 2 diagnosed in 2010. 64 yrs ofโฆ read more
I'm beginning to think my fruit intake is also what's running my BS up. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'm going to limit it for the next week and see if that changes anything. I'll keep you posted!
Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member,
There are keto breads (from zero to 4 net carbs per slice) and keto friendly breads like 647, with 6 net carbs, 40 calories, and 7 grams fiber per slice.
Spouted grain breads are a little better than whole grain or white. Sourdough breads are a little better.
I only use honey as a meal replacement. Honey has many good properties, but is not low carb.
I normally eat very low carb, so all carbs are usually outside my purview.
Good luck. As you find your way, while eating to your blood glucose meter and the nondiabetic range of 4.0(72 usa) to 7.8(140 usa).
I wish for you more good days than bad and have many exceptional days too.
I have found that the 647 bread is the most tasty of the lower carb breads. I like to toast it and use it as croutons on a salad for the crunch.
Thx for the good advice. God bless
Hi Gert if you have to have bread try low GI breads sourdough and dense bread fruit and juices are very high in natural sugars so try and limit your intake honey is not recommended as it is above the glycemic index requirement which is above 55 not sure if keto version is available ,all the best tc
