Only had it once and after 2 vaccines at least (maybe 3) and it hit me hard for 3 days - the first day was just a blinding headache, but blood sugar mostly behaved (A1C was running 5.6% without meds) and recovered fine - no change in BG Average

I had Covid 2x @A DiabetesTeam Member. The first was long Covid. 6 weeks of it,and my numbers were way higher. Any sickness or stress will run those numbers up. Thank God,we survived it.

Yes, in about 14% of people who got covid including existing Type 2's they either got "worse" OR were diagnosed with Type 2 even if they had minimal/no risk factors

In the general population the rate of Type 2 in North America went from 8% of the population to 12% "because of the virus" NOT THE Vaccine

The Covid "cooties" grow/reproduce by attaching to a cell and sucking the life out of it to grow more (cooties)

The Beta Cells in the Pancreas (that produce insulin) are one of their "favourite foods" so IF (your) infection made it to the pancreas it started gobbling up your insulin producing cells and (they - the experts) don't even know yet if those cells can regenerate (later)

So in people that were infected, even if was a mild case, about 1 in 7 had their pancreas "attacked" and if they already had Type 2 it got worse and if they were (close) they got the diagnosis

Lot's of data/studies on it, but they are still crunching the numbers and doing follow up so like everything else (studied) it could take 10 years before any conclusions are drawn

But it was well known pretty early on the Covid can cause Diabetes (not really Type 2 but rather more properly a sub-type of Type 3C "damage to the pancreas" in this case, or make your Type 2 look a whole lot more like LADA that is not yet fully insulin dependent

I got every scheduled vaccine as they were available - the only way to prevent potentially having this effect ME (or you) was to try and prevent the infection in the first place...

Correction I had COVID once caught in hospital,and norovirus caught in second hospital.My bs rose for a few weeks.Sometimes I think I still have problems from COVID but can't be certain

It wasn't worse for me. The first time I contracted it, my T2D wasn't well controlled as I was on 4 different T2D meds with an A1c around 10% and fasting bs in the 200s. It took over a week to get over the symptoms.

The second time I caught it earlier this year was much better. At that point, I had already entered T2D remission (no T2D meds, well controlled A1c around 5.2% and fasting bs in the 70s and 80s). The symptoms were not as severe this time and only lasted about 3 days.
