Anyone Have Any Luck With Over The Counter Medication To Lower Blood Sugar?
I notice on FB there are more and more miracle cures but when you look at comments they are all fake accounts.
Yes - I take 4 (supplements) and at least with my "non-scientific testing" they all helped lower my blood sugar
But wait - here is the Spectacular results
Using all 4 my FBS "average" went from 5.7 mmols/103 all the way down to 5.4/97 - can you imagine a Whole 6 points on average
They are NOT MEDS and don't work like that
If the traditionals/naturals actually "treated" Diabetes would have been cured 2000 years ago
They "help a little" as part of your total treatment program
Why do I take them?
Because 103 is above the "normal fasting high" of 99
Taking them gets me 2 points below the ceiling so I can "say" my Fasting Average is "non-diabetic normal"
Is it any healthier, any real physiological benefit - NOT AT ALL
But the mental victory of having normal instead of diabetic fasting numbers was a "Big Deal for Me"
There is NOTHING over the counter or online or coming from some secret lab run by a Doctor who is being hunted by Big Pharma to try and hide the "truth" that you can take in any combination or amount that will do as much for you as a-single daily 500mg dose of Metformin - period
If you are looking for a non-drug option that DOES effect blood sugar positively in 100% of the cases;
If you are not at "normal weight" (BMI under 25 with 22-23 ideal) get there - weight management will improve insulin resistance, reduce fat around the liver and pancreas which will allow you to better utilize the insulin you produce and help prevent the liver (which stores sugar) from throwing "parties"
5 out 6 Type 2's would have NEVER been diagnosed if they had have maintained "normal weight" - and yes, 88% of the population can carry around 50 or more "extra pounds" and be "just fine"
Unfortunately, WE, are in the 12% that can't
Sure, it might be genetic factors that made us more prone, but it's "almost always" the being overweight that causes the disease to take hold and is the biggest impediment to controlling it
Save your money - don't buy the Snake Oil
