So VitaminD is a prohormone that helps us absorb calcium. To much calcium can cause, brittle bones, kidney stones, and even muscle cramps, may be the reason your Dr discontinued it. If the cramps are really bothersome talk to your Dr as it could also be an magnesium or potassium imbalance.

I was taking Vitamin D and my dr took me off of it and now every night I have bad cramps in my right leg what can you do for it

DiabetesTeam provided a great answer, but pins and needles could be something as simple is B12 deficiency, vitamin D. When was the last time you've had these checked? Some diabetes meds deplete B12
