This Morning I Got A Fright... Took My Blood And It's Was 16.9 Mmol/L. I Immediately Re Checked It And Got A Reading Of 10. Accuchek Instant

How accurate are the readings? I use an Accuchek instant. Never had this before. Dirty hands? Funky machine? I feel good, no real symptoms from high blood sugar?

It sounds like you experienced a significant fluctuation in your blood sugar readings. Here are some steps you can take:

- Recheck Your Meter: Ensure your glucose meter is functioning correctly. Sometimes, discrepancies can occur due to meter issues.
- Consult Your Doctor: Bring your readings to your next appointment. Your doctor can help interpret these fluctuations and adjust your treatment plan if necessary.

Wow that would be scary. Always wash your hands before checking to get oils, food and other materials your hands may have picked up. My meter isn't removable. I use a one touch ultra 2, it is accurate and sends my readings straight to my Drs. office, that I have linked in. Hope this helps.

Hello Craig πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦
I set my Accu-check out on a towel which I use specifically for testing.
I wipe the monitor down before use.
I scrub my hands with a nail brush
I open the strip cylinder with the towel, to avoid my hands touching anything, after I have scrubbed them.
You might want to try this, albeit a bit over the top caution. πŸ€—
