We all still crave sweets, human nature. Dark chocolate not as bad for you, and has added benefits like lowering blood pressure, may help migraines, and more, just limit intake.

- Cottage cheese with fresh pineapple
- Dark-chocolate-covered almonds, strawberries, or orange slices
- A sweet-tasting protein shake
- Dates stuffed with walnuts and low-fat cream cheese
- Frozen cherries

Additionally, you can experiment with your favorite baked goods by adding healthy ingredients like canned pumpkin, ground oatmeal, ground flaxseed, bran, or berries to boost the fiber content. Always remember to control your portion sizes and choose your ingredients wisely.

Check at your local drug store. There are candies called: Smart Sweets. They are low in sugar and don't spike glucose. They are costly but, well worth it to satisfy those cravings.

I see it as no different then any other addiction like smoking or alcohol

But in the case of "sweets" it's not like they break into your home and hide in the cupboard or sneak into your purse or bag at a store

Most of what we eat is "habit"

You just have to break the habit by staying away from them until you no longer crave them

In the mean time you can look to brands like Atkins and Russell Stover's sugarless line - taste like the real thing (at 4 or 5 times the cost which is usually what gets you to stop eating the substitutes)
