There have been a number of discussions here about Statins, taken to lower cholesterol
Since most Type 2's do not have Diabetes alone but more correctly have Metabolic Syndrome which includes High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, High Triglycerides, Obesity and PCOS (which is closely linked) many are also prescribed a Statin
In fact Diabetes Canada recommends that all Diabetics take a Statin whether they have high cholesterol or not for it's cardio protective properties

Rosuvastatin for me
@A DiabetesTeam Member I hear you but at least in my case I take a Canadian Generic for Lipitor - I can get a whole years worth for $62.05 - that's not paying for any golf vacation in Hawaii
I take 10 mg. of Atorvastatin with added calcium. For those experiencing leg pain from statins, there are some that have fewer side effects. I had to be switched from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin, because of the leg pain.
I have been on mine for a few years had no problems I also take Coq10 π₯°

I have high cholesterol and am currently taken 80 mg/dl of Atovastatin for a long time now.
