Diabetes keto acidosis.

Standard treatment in hospital is IV fluids, electrolytes, insulin.

It is a life threatening condition and must be treated immediatately.
----‐------------------------

Ketosis on the other hand happens when eating a keto diet. The body burns fat, breath smells fruity and somewhat like alcohol.

I eat 2-3 net carbs per meal. Every 2-3 days my Bride tells me my breath stinks, she doesn't like the ketones smell.

So I eat a portion of fruit and go out of ketosis. My numbers go high for about 2 meals, then back in control.

If I were to allow the ketosis to continue I will drop 1-2 pounds a week for a while.

If I calorie cycle, eating a little more calories than I need for daily energy 2x a week. I will drop about 1 pound a week continuously.

I'm not sure what you really were asking about.

So I gave the keto acidosis information first.

Then the ketosis information next.

You are in ketosis in both conditions.

Does this help.
