personally I have decided to treat myself as my own best friend, I know it sounds silly but if your best friend needed help you would do what ever you could for them to help them get healthy right? Well low GI is probably the best way to start its how i am trying to change. I have cut out all white bread , potato and white rice and exchanged them for wholemeal or multigrain bread , sweet potato and pumpkin and brown or basmati rice.
I eat protein, lean meat and legumes lots of veggies but I avoid the ones I love like peas and sweet corn though i still have them in moderation. I am learning how to replace my sweets like cakes etc with ones with wholemeal flour and use stevia for sweetening instead of sugar and I allow myself to have them also in moderation, custard and jellies can be made using stevia or you can get the low sugar ones .
You can by low sugar ice cream as well. Just remember you are not denying yourself everything you are changing it to make yourself healthy. Oh and for a real treat I do allow myself to have 70% dark choclate once in a blue moon. I hope this helps good luck.

No easy answer. I was completely addicted to sugar/carbs(which instantly change to sugar). Best way - hard - but it works. Go 14 days (in a row) without sugar - processed in foods, white sugar added, honey..... Eat whole, healthy foods. Best way to know all of the foods you can eat and recipes - I read and used a book called Maximized Living. It was sooooo worth it. Started feeling better after a few days of withdrawal. Get someone to walk with you through it.

Sugar isthemost hard drug. By eating an little bit of it you opened an door for questions on it. Your body keeps demanding for more. The only thing you can do stop with sugar carbs etc. Totally. Start by running. Itdelivwfsalso an kind of drugs.
