Insomnia And Diabetes

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭
Adelaide Hills, AU

I have had so much trouble sleeping for quite a while now. I have been finding it very hard to function and I even hallucinate at times. Does anyone have any ideas that could help me sleep?

Diabetics are very low in magnesium. Take at least 700 mg of chelated magnesium.

Low magnesium levels can cause insomnia especially for diabetics, since diabetics are low in magnesium due to the meds. Try taking at least 700 mg a day, divided doses. Take 1 of the doses at bedtime.

@A DiabetesTeam Member I've also had tinnitis for years. So long that I just ignore it, mostly. I sleep with my radio on all the time; maybe just for background noise or maybe to block the constant ringing in my ears. I'm not sure which.
