Steroids
I had 2 shots in my back and 1 in each soldier , I usually do 70 units of Tresiba once a day , but right now I've increased my insulin by 5 units and I can't get my number below 144 . my question is how long before my number get back to say right around 100 ,,,this has been going on for 3 days ,,,HELP
Oh honey, I'm sorry to hear you had to have steroid shots. Steroids raise blood sugar. I have had shots in my fingers for trigger finger and before the Dr. gave me the shot, he said, now, this will make your blood sugars go up. So don't be alarmed. That is totally normal. Frustrating but normal.
It took 8 days , then spiked . I guess that some numbers are low for others but 99 , then 90 and I was reaching for the orange juice . TY for the reply
That's a lot of steroid going into your body at once. It's probably going to take a few days to come back down. Don't worry, your numbers will drop back down. I've had shots in my knee and foot, but not at the same time. My bg usually normalizes in 2-3 days, so I would say at least a week for you.
