Are you experiencing low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia)? Here are some key points to consider:

- Symptoms: Early symptoms include shakiness, confusion, and sweating. If left untreated, it can lead to seizures, unconsciousness, and even death.
- Immediate Treatment: Consume fast-acting carbohydrates like glucose tablets, juice, or sugar-sweetened soda.
- Severe Cases: Sometimes, glucagon injections are necessary if the person is unable to treat themselves.

If you have frequent lows, it’s important to consult your healthcare provider to adjust your treatment plan.

Hi Nana,

My advice is to celebrate your lows. Reduction of steroid use is setting your body……free. This, and the use of Ozempic .25mg which I take too, is liberating your system. Stay calm. Let the ship (your body) find its way back to shore at its pace.

Also, recommend using juice based sugar enhancers (Punch for me!!) when in a seriously low diabetic state.

Recommendation:

Research the steroids you’re still taking. How they “hit” the body is different on a case by case basis.

@A DiabetesTeam Member hello to you from Maroochydore Queensland and I was on Steroids (Prednisolone) and Opioids for several months in 2017 when I was quite ill with Pneumonia cop which filled my lungs and airways with inflammation and my blood sugar and blood pressure both went sky high.
I am feeling well nowadays and I think that my regular walks for exercise and eating mostly healthy meals for the past 18 months had corrected my Diabetes type2 - which is in remission, and I have reversed the lack of Vitamin B12 in my system- my energy vitamin is much improved

As a result I no longer have to take Metformin medication for Diabetes type2 and I don’t need to get a B12 injection every 3 months.

My suggestion is to closely monitor your blood sugar levels during the next week and if they continue to be low the doctor should be informed in my opinion it might just be your system adjusting to no more steroids.. but I am not a doctors or specialist so it is up to you to get some advice from your doctor/Endochrinoligist

Hugs from Judyxx
