As Johanne notes, itchy skin (legs) can be a lot of things.

I get psoriasis on the backs of my hands every winter. I work with gloves on, plus the dry weather seems to cause it to flair up. It's usually not a summer problem for me since I naturally have more (skin oil) on my skin in the heat of the summer.

Mine doesn't hurt or get itchy for the most part, it's kinda just there. It appears as a kinda flaky patch that leaves the skin quite (blotchy) red. When it does get itchy a bit of Glysomed cream usually takes care of it.

Eczema is a similar condition that (looks) almost exactly the same as psoriasis. Eczema is an inflamatory issue (rash) while Psoriasis is a condition where your skin actually is growing super fast (causing the upper layers to peel like after a sunburn). Usually need a Doc to tell the difference between the two. Eczema can be treated with a medicated cream, psoriasis, if extreme can be treated with sterioids. I have only ever needed a little moisturizer to take care of my outbreaks.

Does either sound like what you are experiencing?

Otherwise it could just be dry skin. Trying some moisturizer is the quick and easy way to either cure or rule that out.

Now it could be diabetes related as well (as dozens of other causes). IF you have had persistant high blood sugars (usually for at least a few years) it can damage the small blood vessels and nerves close to the skin surface, particularly on the legs, which can lead to an itching sensation.

Hi and welcome to the group.

Many health issues can cause itchy skin, would need more information ? How long have you been diabetic ? Are your kidneys working well or do you have some renal failure. Do you have rash or redness in the area. Have you been outside and got mosquito bites or other insects. Do you have swelling in the area that is itchy. Do you have other health conditions that could cause itchy skin, or medications, have you had this before. So many other stuff can cause being itchy. Allergic reactions also.

Hello and welcome T2D, I have dry skin is why I bathe in Olay body wash and I use vaseline to rub all over my body which is better than expensive lotions. I also use eucerin ointment on my hands for work after constantly washing my hands especially using bacterial soap which dries my skin. I like Rooted Beauty Hydrated Hand Cream Oat Milk. Too much sun could burn you and cause pain, redness and swelling and irritation. I don't wear my scented sprays at night which draws the mosquitos from different fragrances. If you use Off insect repellents, please wash it off immediately after returning home. It too can cause irritation.
I share because I care! 🥰
